John 4:23-24 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is Spirit; and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
INTRODUCTION
God is seeking worshipers. If you want to live in the glory realm, you must be a worshiper. “For the Father is seeking such to worship Him”. That is what God wants from you – worship. Praise is the means of entering into the presence of the Lord. We enter His gates with singing, and we enter His courts with praise. When we are in His presence, the next thing to do is “worship Him.”
The Hebrew and Greek terms for worship found in the Bible emphasize the act of prostration, doing obeisance. 1 Chronicles 29:20 “Then David said to all the assembly, Now bless the Lord your God. So all the assembly blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the Lord and the King.”
To worship is submission of all the believer is – spirit, soul, and body to the will of God. So, to worship is to submit to the will of God in humble adoration. To praise God is to celebrate the amazing grace and the manifest glory of the Lord.
While praise involves singing, clapping of hands, dancing, rejoicing, with musical instruments. Worship is a quite and solemn lifting up of hands, our hearts, our soul, and our spirit to God.
Worship Involves Bowing Down Before God
2 Chronicles 7:1-4 “When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house. 3 When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying: For He is good, for His mercy endures forever”.
It is worship that brings forth the glory, and God’s ultimate desire is that the glory of the Lord “cover the earth as the water cover the sea.” The glory will descend as snow. We can bring the glory into our services, Bible study, into our homes, into our city, state and country by truly worshiping the living God.
What is the glory? God’s glory is His manifest presence. God is Omnipresent, meaning, He is everywhere. God’s glory is therefore, the tangible manifestation of that reality. God is manifesting His presence to His people who truly worship Him today as He did in the Old Testament.
In the Old Testament the glory was seen as a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire in the wilderness. Some times in our services, we feel His presence like fire, when a heat-like wave sweeps all over you, with a warm sensation enveloping your body that is God's glory invading your life.
Sometimes it comes down like dewdrops falling on your head and hands. Sometimes it comes down as golden drops of rain. Sometimes He comes as a huge bright light, brighter than the sun. Some people see little sparkles known as the glory dust that falls from His garment. Some see the glory as a gray or yellow smoke. “His trails fill the temple” meaning a smoke-like cloud filled the atmosphere when He is present.
This glory will heal all kind of sicknesses and diseases, miracles, signs and wonders take place when this glory is present, He convict and transform lives. I encourage you to contend for this glory through passionate and intimate worship. Cultivate the lifestyle of continuous worship until His glory start to manifest in your life, in your family, in your church, I bet you, great things will start happening in your life and affairs.
Worship Involves Lifting Up of our Hands
Nehemiah 8:6 “And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. Then all the people answered, Amen. Amen! While lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
Angels and Worship
Revelation 7:11 “All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen”
The host of heaven continually acknowledge the majesty and holiness of God and Christ before and around the Throne of Heaven.
