ANGELS AND OUR PRAYERS

Psalm 91:11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

INTRODUCTION

God's holy angels are our invisible prayer expediters. The Bible teaches that the total number of God's angels are beyond human numbering - Hebrews 12:22 "But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an unnumerable company of angels."

Angels primary responsibility as created beings are to worship and serve God and Christ. Hebrews 1:6 "And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship Him."

Angels secondary responsibility are to serve "those who will inherit salvation". Hebrews 1:14 "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"

How Angels Helped Answer Prayers In The Old Testament

The Bible teaches how God used His angels to help answer prayers of many of the great biblical heroes:

Abraham prayer for Lot - Genesis 19:16-17

When Abraham prayed for his nephew Lot during the time he was living in the pagan city of Sodom. God sent angels to deliver Lot before destroying the city.

Elijah and Jezebel - 1 King 19:5-7

When Elijah was fleeing from the wrath of Jezebel, praying in desperation, God sent His angel twice to provide food for him.

Elisha and the enemy forces - 2 Kings 6:17

When enemy forces surrounded Elisha, God sent multitudes of angels to protect him.

Hezekiah and Isaiah - 2 Chronicles 32:20-21

When Hezekiah and Isaiah cried out in prayer to heaven, the Lord sent an angel to deliver Jerusalem from their enemies.

Daniel In the Lions' Den - Daniel 6:22

After Daniel, the prayer warrior was thrown into the lions' den, he testified, "My God sent His angel and he shut the mouths of the lions." That means, God is able to shut the mouth of the lions that would like to eat you up. The challenges, the life threathening situation, hateful persecutor and oppressors. Amen.

When Daniel sought to understand his vision, God sent Gabriel to interpret for him. Daniel 8:15-16

Again Daniel prayed with fasting, and Gabriel was sent to him - Daniel 9:3, 20-23.

Angels in the New Testament

Jesus was strengthen by angels - Matthew 4:11; Luke 22:43

Jesus received angelic assistance. We know that at least twice when He prayed, angels came and strengthened Him.

John in the Island of Patmos - Revelation 1:1

When John prayed during his exile on Patmos, God sent His angel to give him the vision found in the Book of Revelation.

We are Important to the Angels - 1 Corinthians 11:10

We should rejoice in the glorious fact that we are never alone. Even children have an accompanying angel. Matthew 18:10. Paul said, "we have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men." 1 Corinthians 4:9

There is not a moment of your life when the loving eyes of the angels are not on you. They are the one that keeps God's book in which all your thoughts, words, and deed are recorded - Revelation 20:12.

God's Angel Are Important To You - Hebrews 1:14

God's angels are always on call to God and to you when you pray. They are sent to help accomplish God's purpose for you. There is no limit to what they can do for you if it is in accord with God's will. If more than one angel is required, God can dispatch enough to meet your need.

Angels are able to travel at the incredible speed of light and of the world of spirit. They are not hampered by a physical body, but when God so wills, they can instantly assume a bodily form and function through that body.

You may need the assistance of God's angels to bind Satan and demonic influence; to disrupt his plans and stop his control over certain people; to dispel satanic darkness and drive back his demons.

Under God's direction, angels may protect from accident, storms, and other natural calamities; from enemies motivated by Satan or from outright demonic attack.

Angels also may be empowered to distract the attention of your enemies, causing your presence to go unnoticed in times of danger. They may then coordinate providential circumstances to aid in your escape from enemies.

Personal Needs - Malachi 3:11

You may feel the need of angelic help in very personal matters, to protect your loved ones; to bring people to your aid, to watch over your children, your crop, and livestock.

Important points about angels:

  • God's angels are always with you
  • God's angels can go anywhere at any time,
  • God's angels have superhuman strength
  • God's angels love you because you are loved by God
  • God's angels are only God's messangers assigned to you, you do not pray to or worship them; you pray only to God and ask Him for their help.

Remember, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit can work directly, but they probably often chose to work through the ministry and cooperation of angels.

A multitude of these heavenly hosts are always instaltly availabel to you, to be dispatched to the place or person in need. They are waiting to help you.
