HOLY SPIRIT AT CREATION

Gen 1:1-2 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 - The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." INTRODUCTION The Holy Spirit has operated in man since the creation. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit worked through men as the occasion demanded it. In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit worked in men by dwelling within them. The first revelation of the Holy Spirit - Gen 1:1-2 The Holy Spirit shared in the creation of the earth. The Spirit moved over the earth that was without form and void and the darkness that was on the face of the deep, and changed chaos into a a beautiful creation. He still does the same today, whenever He moves upon a life, He transforms a messed up, wretched, sin ruined and sickness ravaged soul, into a beautiful life of wholeness, health and vitality. The Holy Spirit in the life of Joseph - Gen 41:38-40 "And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?" Pharaoh recognized the Spirit of God in Joseph. 39 Then Pharoah said to Joseph, "Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. 40 "You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you." The Spirit of God upon the seventy elders of Israel - Numbers 11:25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again." The same Spirit upon Moses was passed to many others. The Spirit of God imparted to Joshua - Deut 34:9 "Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses." Bezaleel was filled with the Spirit of God - Exodus 31:3 "And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship." Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge comes from God through His Spirit. If you lack any of these you can ask of God and He will fill you as He did Bezaleel. Bezaleel did much of the creative work for the tabernacle. He was given supernatural power and ability to do a natural work. The Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon - Judges 6:34 "But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites gathered behind him." The Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson mightily - Judges 15:14-15 "When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting against him. Then the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him; and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds broke loose from his hands. 15 He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand and took it, and killed a thousand men with it." When the Spirit of the Lord come upon a person, whatever is holding that individual bound will brake off, even as the rope with which Samson was bound with, and with the Word of God in his mount will able to defeat strong enemies. The Holy Spirit fell upon David - 1 Samuel 16:13 "Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward." The Spirit of the Lord came upon David as Samuel anointed him king over Israel. God has anointed us to be witnesses, and no matter what happens, we will surely do that for which we were anointed for, even as David, despite all the trouble he went through, Saul trying to kill, so that he never become King over Israel, yet climbed to the throne and was a very successful King. It is interesting to note, that there are people who do anoint and appoint themselves to become king, unfortunately, such king will never have a kingdom or a subject to rule. The Spirit of God worked through Daniel - Daniel 4:8 "But at last Daniel came before me his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; in him is the Spirit of the Holy God, and I told the dream before him, saying....... Daniel 4:18 "This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, declare its interpretation, since all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for the Spirit of Holy God is in you." Phrophet Micah was used by the Holy Spirit - Micah 3:8 "But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin." Micah was used as a mouthpiece by the Spirit to convict Israel of sin.
